When is the Gala?

Saturday, March 1st, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Why a Gala?

In the spirit of trying new things for Hick's 20th anniversary, members agreed it would be fun to bring back the gala as a homage to the one the Hicks PTA put on during their inaugural year. 

 

Who can attend?

Due to the nature of the event and capacity limitations, the Gala will be open only to adults 21 and up- that includes Hicks parents, grandparents, staff, alumni, community members, etc. Any adult who loves Hicks and wants to celebrate with us is welcome!

 

What is included in the Gala with a wristband purchase?

Admission to the event, buffet dinner/appetizers/desserts, non-alcoholic beverages, DJ and dancing, photo booths, casino games, and a starter bank of casino money to cash in for chips.

 

What is the cost to attend and when can we purchase wristbands? 

PTA Member Pre-Sale of General Admission Wristbands for $115 each runs through 1/31/2025. After that, anyone can purchase a General Admission Wristband for $125 each. Wristband sales are limited, and will likely sell out, so don’t delay!

 

Please note- The Gala is completely self-funded by wristband sales and sponsors who choose to donate. It is not funded with PTA income budgeted for other expenses or investments. 

Do I have to have a child at Hicks to be a PTA member?

Not at all! Anyone who believes in our mission to make every child's potential a reality can support Hicks by joining PTA at www.HicksPTA.com.

 

What is the VIP Experience and how much does it cost?

The VIP Experience is $2000 for up to 10 people, and there are only 4 available. The VIP wristband includes all benefits of the general admission wristband, as well as: reserved table in a prime location with guaranteed seating for up to 10 guests; VIP expedited check-in; double casino money; designated waitstaff for beverage service at the table to avoid lines at the bar!

 

What is the refund policy?

Full refunds are available through February 9th, 2025. Any refund requests after February 10th, 2025 will be taken into consideration but cannot be guaranteed- i.e. if we have a waitlist and can transfer wristbands, full refunds can be given, if not, there is potential for a partial refund. No refunds will be given after February 21st, 2025.

 

What casino games will there be?

Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, and Texas Hold ‘Em tables will be open for play from 7pm-10pm.

 

Are we gambling with real money?

No. Upon check-in, guests will receive “casino cash” to trade for chips at the gaming tables. 

 

What do we do with the chips we win at the casino?

Casino chips will be cashed in for vouchers, which will be traded for raffle tickets to place in the raffle items of your choice. The casino closes at 10pm so guests can cash in chips for raffle tickets and raffle winners can be drawn.

 

What happens if I run out of chips and want to keep playing?

Extra “casino cash” can be earned with a donation to Hicks PTA.

 

Can I trade my “casino cash” for raffle tickets at any time?

Yes. Any guests who prefer not to play the casino games may automatically cash out for their raffle tickets.

 

Can I buy additional raffle tickets?

Yes. Extra raffle tickets can be earned with a donation to Hicks PTA.

 

How can I contribute towards Hicks staff wristbands?

PTA’s goal is to collect donations so that any Hicks staff member who wants to attend the Gala can do so for free, or at least a discounted price. Donors may contribute any amount toward staff wristbands here. We have reserved staff wristbands and requested staff members do not purchase personal wristbands until donations are tallied.

Is there onsite childcare at the Gala?

Childcare is NOT available at the Gala. However, Planet Kidz will be having its March event at Hicks and is extending the time frame to accommodate parents attending the gala.

 

What is Planet Kidz?

Planet Kidz partners with Hicks administration to provide a fun and safe entertainment for kids. Every event has a live DJ, games, concessions, a bounce house and more. Admission is $20/child and a portion of the proceeds go back to Hicks.

  

How will we receive our wristbands?

You will receive your wristband(s) when you check-in at Stonebriar Country Club the evening of the Gala. If you purchased multiple wristbands for your party, they will all be under your name at the check-in table unless you specify otherwise in advance.

 

Will wristbands be available for purchase at the door?

Wristband sales are limited- if we are not sold out in advance, wristbands may be available for purchase at check-in, but not guaranteed. Pro-tip: buy your wristbands early to guarantee admission!

  

What should I wear?

Cocktail attire, Black Tie optional.

 

Will alcoholic drinks be available for purchase?

Hicks PTA will not provide alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased through Stonebriar Country Club (SCC) by card, cash or member charge (if you are a current Stonebriar Country Club member). If you plan to purchase alcoholic beverages, please consider a ride-share option. *SCC reserves the right to refuse alcohol service to anyone.

Can we bring alcohol into the Gala?

No. Outside alcohol is not permitted and Stonebriar Country Club reserves the right to confiscate any outside alcohol and/or ask anyone who brings it in to leave the premises.

 

What payment methods will be accepted at the Gala?

Cash and cards for wristband purchases (if not sold out) and additional casino chips or raffle tickets if desired. Cash/card/member charge for alcohol purchases through SCC.

 

Do I need to bring cash for tips? 

If you want to show any of the Gala staff (Banquet Crew, Bartenders, Valet, DJ, and Casino Dealers) extra love, you may bring cash tips to supplement the minimum gratuity that is included in their contracts.

 

Where should I park?

Complimentary valet service is provided under the awning at the front entrance. Ample parking is also available, but please reserve spaces marked Member Parking for SCC members.
