I hope everyone is getting settled back into the school routine. Amidst the uncertainties of the world right now, there is so much excitement at Hicks, and it makes me so happy to have the privilege of being surrounded by it! Principal Webb told us at our first meeting this year that their focus is on student experience, and we are looking forward to partnering with our faculty and staff to make sure our students have the best experience possible this year. We have had so much fun already meeting so many of you at Meet the Teacher, getting to know our newest Timberwolves at Kindergarten Meet & Greet, and spoiling our teachers and staff with a Back to School Breakfast. I hope to see many of you at Panda Express on Thursday and the FC Dallas game on September 11! We've got many activities on the horizon, so check out the information below and let us know if you're able to help out.

Fall Festival is BACK!

PTA is excited to announce that our Fall Festival is back on the schedule and we're already planning for this HUGE event. Our first planning meeting isFriday, 8/27at 12pm. Anyone can attend! We need lots of volunteers to help lead the handful of necessary committees. Some positions can easily be done from home so there is a job for everyone and every schedule!

Calling All Volunteers!

LISD requires all our volunteer opportunities be posted on the volunteer website Voly. Register on Voly and submit your background check so you can sign up for volunteer opps, field trips, and general meetings. Be sure to become a fan of Hicks Elementary so our school opps appear in your feed first. (Note: It could take up to three weeks for your background check to clear.)
