Do you know an exceptional PTA member at Hicks? We want to know who it is! Nominate a staff member and a parent for the highest honor in PTA, the Lifetime Membership award!

Nominations will be accepted through January 26, 2022. Recipients will be presented at the LISD Council of PTAs Founders' Day Banquet on February 24, 2022.

Mrs. Lewis Named Hicks 2021-22 Teacher of the Year

Huge congratulations to Mrs. Jessica Lewis (first grade) on being named Hicks 2021-22 Teacher of the Year! Congratulations Mrs. Lewis on your well-deserved honor! PTA is so thankful for you and for all our wonderful staff.

HURRY LISD seniors!!! The deadline to apply for an LEF scholarship is Friday, Jan. 7. All requested information must be received by LEF no later than 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2022. Apply here. For any questions, email Sherah Robinson at robinsonsl@lisd.net.

LISD CHOICES Event: Map the SEL World

LISD CHOICES has another upcoming Whole Child Series session Tuesday, Jan. 11, on Social Emotional Learning (SEL). This is a FREE presentation for parents. Topics include an overview of SEL, Rhithm, Second Step, Everfi, MS and HS Suicide Prevention Curriculum, and Red Ribbon Campaign for all students. Parents, staff, and children are welcome! The CHOICES Family Center, established in 2008, is a free counseling program for all LISD students and families.

LISD requires cleared background checks for all on-campus visitors. Register on Voly and submit your background check ASAP so you can sign up for volunteer opps, field trips, and general meetings. Be sure to become a fan of Hicks Elementary so our school opps appear in your feed first. (Note: It could take up to three weeks for your background check to clear.)
